Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surface Mount Solderer for a temp-to-perm opportunity in Simi Valley, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional with 1 to 2 years of soldering experience who enjoys detailed electronic assembly work in a quality-focused production environment.

The Surface Mount Solderer will support the assembly, soldering, rework, and inspection of electronic components and printed circuit boards. This opportunity offers steady work, the potential for long-term placement, and the chance to contribute to a collaborative production team where precision, reliability, and quality workmanship are valued.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform surface mount soldering, touch-up, and rework on printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
- Inspect solder joints, components, and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and workmanship standards.
- Use hand tools, soldering equipment, microscopes, and basic production tools to complete assigned work.
- Follow work instructions, assembly drawings, production travelers, and quality procedures.
- Maintain proper handling of electronic components, including ESD safety practices.
- Communicate production issues, defects, or material concerns to leads or supervisors.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $23 to $26 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform detailed SMT soldering, rework, and touch-up on electronic assemblies.
- Inspect boards and solder joints to support production quality requirements.
- Follow assembly documentation, production procedures, and ESD guidelines.

- 1 to 2 years of soldering or electronic assembly experience.
- Experience with surface mount components and printed circuit board assembly.
- Ability to use soldering irons, hand tools, magnification equipment, and inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality work.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions, drawings, and production documentation.
- Dependable, quality-minded, and able to work effectively in a manufacturing production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with SMT rework in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards, such as IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001.
- Experience working under a microscope or magnification for fine-pitch component soldering.
- Previous temp-to-hire or production assembly experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
