This Supply Chain Procurement Manager Position Features:

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a highly experienced Supply Chain Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing operations for their production facility and front-office departments. This role is responsible for procurement, vendor management, inventory control, planning, forecasting, and receiving—ensuring materials are available to meet production demands. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and excels at prioritizing shifting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Vendor Management:

Partner with manufacturing and engineering to source materials cost-effectively and on schedule.
Monitor vendor performance related to cost, delivery, quality, and scope, ensuring strong ROI.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.
Manage the complete Purchase Order process—review requirements, release orders, and process stock POs.
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; oversee and update the Approved Vendor List.
Identify new suppliers, establish replenishment methods, and evaluate vendor performance regularly.

Inventory Control & Planning:

Maintain inventory levels to achieve budget goals and corporate turnover targets.
Manage planning parameters including safety stock, order multiples, and planning periods.
Oversee product cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory.
Resolve customer-driven shortages and communicate updates to Sales.
Handle returns, credits, and resolve PO discrepancies or delivery issues.


Qualifications:

10+ years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment required.
Expert in using ERP systems strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of procurement best practices, inventory control, and vendor management.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Exceptional organization and time management; able to handle multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and strong accountability.
Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
