Controller – Strategic Finance Partner | Redmond, WA | Hybrid
A well-established financial services firm in Redmond, WA is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Controller to lead accounting operations and play a key role in financial strategy. This is a hybrid role—three days in-office and two days remote—ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings both technical depth and strategic insight.
This role is perfect for a candidate with a strong understanding of Washington’s Business & Occupation (B&O) tax requirements who also wants to contribute meaningfully to budgeting, forecasting, and overall business direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and oversee preparation of financial statements
- Ensure compliance with Washington State and local B&O tax regulations
- Provide strategic guidance to leadership through forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
- Oversee internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial systems improvements
- Collaborate across departments to align financial plans with company goal
- Prepare financials and supporting analysis for audits, board meetings, and leadership updates
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager
- Strong working knowledge of Washington State B&O tax structure (state and local level)
- Experience in financial services, professional services, or multi-entity environments preferred
- Ability to work both hands-on and at a strategic leadership level
- CPA or advanced degree preferred but not required
