STAFF ACCOUNTANT, SENIOR RESPONSIBILITIES
SCHEDULE: 4 days remote with 1 day working onsite in Wilmington, NC (4/1 Hybrid)
REPORTS: Directly to the SVP of Finance & Operations
OVERVIEW
Seeking a Staff Accountant, Senior for a live music company, which owns & operates venues, produces music festivals, and promotes stadium-scale concerts and shows. We are building a finance function that can keep pace with working in a multi-entity Sage Intacct environment, real controls, and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting for the leadership team. This critical position owns day-to-day accounting operations across our growing portfolio of entities, to help strengthen close, controls, and reporting.
Accounting Operations
• Full-cycle A/P & A/R across multiple entities
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, track collections and resolve discrepancies
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Process intercompany transactions, allocations, and journal entries
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, contracts, and 1099 compliance documentation
• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns across multiple states
Month-End Close & Reporting
• Support month-end close: accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reporting packages
• Partner with SVP of Finance & Operations on close timeline, quality, reporting accuracy
Systems, Controls & Process
• Support ongoing Sage Intacct ERP optimization and system enhancements
• Document and improve accounting standard operating procedures
• Help build and operate a strengthening internal control environment, including segregation of duties, approval workflows, and audit readiness
• Coordinate with teams on payments, vendor compliance, and financial workflows
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 6+ years’ full-cycle accounting experience required
• Multi-entity cloud ERP: Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Acumatica or Dynamics 365 Business required
• Prior experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and allocations required
• Hands-on preparation and filing of multi-state sales and use tax returns
• Advanced Excel — pivot tables, lookups, and high-volume reconciliation work
• Experience supporting an external tax preparer through providing clean, well-organized schedules
• Possessing high attention to detail, comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment
