A growing accounting team in the real estate and property management industry is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Hybrid for a contract opportunity in Calabasas, CA. The Staff Accountant will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, resolving discrepancies, supporting month-end close, and partnering with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate accounting activity. Key Responsibilities

- Perform high-volume daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciling items, discrepancies, and account variances in a timely manner.
- Reconcile cash, credit card, and balance sheet accounts while maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
- Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Analyze financial data to identify accounting irregularities, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor requests.

- Work Arrangement: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $29.00 to $34.00 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform bank reconciliations and cash management activities across multiple accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support month-end close.
- Research accounting discrepancies and resolve reconciling items.
- Support audit preparation, documentation, and accounting process improvements.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Extensive hands-on experience performing bank reconciliations required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP functions.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting software systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in real estate, property management, or a related industry.
- Prior experience supporting high-volume accounting environments.
- Experience identifying and implementing accounting process improvements.
