Reports to: CFO
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the CFO and property accounting teams with financial reporting, analysis, and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for an Excel power user with hands-on hotel accounting experience who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support accounting projects and SOP audits across hotel properties
Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
Generate accurate financial reports, schedules, and presentations
Assist with weekly AP check runs and accounting audits
Monitor applicable taxes and ensure compliance
Support property accountants and GMs with credit card reconciliations and group contract verification
Maintain strong internal controls and accounting documentation
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of hotel accounting experience (required)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, lookups – must be strong)
Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Work Environment:
Hybrid remote with downtown San Diego office visits 2–4 times per month
Full-time position with flexibility
