We're seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support financial reporting, general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, sales & use tax compliance, cash accounting, vendor receivables, and month-end close activities. This role partners closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and drive process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and cash accounting transactions.
• Record journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end close.
• Conduct variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
• Prepare and reconcile sales and use tax filings.
• Review and reconcile high-volume Instacart billing, fees, rebates, and adjustments.
• Manage vendor receivables, including rebates, promotional allowances, credits, and accruals.
• Investigate discrepancies and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Support internal controls, audit readiness, and accounting process improvements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of accounting or auditing experience.
• Experience with General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Bank Reconciliations, Sales Tax, and Account Reconciliations.
• Retail, grocery, or supermarket industry experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP experience, Oracle preferred.
