We are seeking a Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity with a manufacturing company in San Fernando, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 1-2 years of experience who is ready to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, month-end close, and inventory-related accounting.
The Staff Accountant will support key accounting functions in a collaborative environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through are highly valued. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end journal entries, including intercompany entries, inventory account adjustments, and prepaid expense amortizations.
- Analyze and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Process invoices related to shipped orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support month-end close activities while maintaining proper documentation and attention to detail.
- Handle sensitive financial information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and support close activities.
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts.
- Complete balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Process invoices for shipped orders.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience.
- Understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and accrual-based accounting.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with confidential financial information in a professional manner.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with accounting and operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to inventory accounting, intercompany entries, prepaid expenses, or cost-related account adjustments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience supporting month-end close processes in a corporate accounting environment.
