Job Summary

A stable, established manufacturing and distribution company in Kent, WA is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team on a direct hire basis. This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional with broad hands-on experience across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller and support day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced, inventory-based business environment. This role offers direct exposure to leadership, the opportunity to expand across multiple accounting functions, and the chance to contribute to process improvements that support long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage Accounts Receivable activities, including invoicing, cash applications, account research, and collections support.
- Support Accounts Payable functions, including invoice processing, coding, and payment support.
- Prepare and post General Ledger journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Perform bank account, balance sheet, and General Ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, financial reporting, and accounting analysis.
- Research discrepancies, support documentation requirements, and assist the Controller with special projects and process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Work Arrangement: 100% onsite.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support full-cycle accounting activities across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Participate in month-end close, year-end close, financial reporting support, and account analysis.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Assist with accounting process improvements and cross-functional operational initiatives.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 or more years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Strong General Ledger accounting experience, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and month-end close activities.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with accounting, leadership, and operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, beverage, or another inventory-based accounting environment.
- Experience working in a mid-sized business environment.
- Exposure to inventory accounting processes.
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
