A growing multi-location organization in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team on a direct hire basis. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with general ledger, reconciliations, journal entry, accounts payable, and month-end close experience who wants to expand their impact across multiple business units.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with finance, accounting, and operations teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This opportunity offers exposure to multi-entity accounting, process improvement, financial reporting support, and cross-functional problem solving. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Perform bank, balance sheet, vendor, and account reconciliations while researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Process vendor invoices, confirm proper coding and approvals, manage payment support, and maintain vendor documentation.
- Track and reconcile transactions across multiple locations, entities, or business units, including intercompany activity.
- Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance review, audit requests, and tax-related documentation.
- Assist with improving accounting processes, internal controls, schedules, and reporting efficiency.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $62,400 to $70,000 per year.
- Employment type: Direct hire.
- Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA.
- Prepare journal entries and support general ledger accounting activities.
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes.
- Process accounts payable transactions and resolve invoice or vendor discrepancies.
- Support multi-location or multi-business-unit accounting and reporting.
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience beyond accounts payable, including hands-on general ledger work.
- Working knowledge of accrual accounting principles.
- Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Experience supporting month-end close activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience supporting multiple entities, divisions, or locations.
- Background in consumer products, retail, distribution, hospitality, food service, or related industries.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or a similar ERP or accounting platform.
- Experience with invoice automation or point-of-sale integrations.
