Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Los Angeles, CA with a manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on general ledger work, month-end close, reconciliations, audit support, and the opportunity to use technology to improve finance operations.
The Staff Accountant will join a collaborative Finance team that values accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional partnership. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow within corporate accounting while contributing to AI, automation, and process improvement initiatives that make recurring finance workflows more efficient and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are documented, researched, and resolved timely.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries for accruals, prepaid amortization, deferrals, reclassifications, and other general ledger activity.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, gathering support, and responding to auditor requests.
- Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Use ERP and financial reporting systems to record transactions, maintain the general ledger, generate reports, and support system testing or upgrades.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation tools, and workflow technology to streamline reconciliations, approvals, reporting, data preparation, and recurring finance processes.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $92,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support month-end close, year-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records while supporting audits, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Partner with Finance and IT teams on ERP usage, system testing, process improvements, and automated workflow initiatives.
- Help improve recurring accounting and reporting activities through data analysis, AI tools, automation, and technology-enabled solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in general accounting, month-end close, finance operations, audit, or a related area.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, account reconciliations, transaction flows, and internal controls.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and data analysis.
- Experience using ERP or financial reporting systems.
- Comfort learning new financial systems, automation tools, and technology platforms.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, collaborate with global teams, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience with Odoo.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience using generative AI, low-code automation, workflow tools, or similar technologies to improve productivity, data accuracy, and finance operations.
- Strong interest in combining accounting expertise with emerging AI and automation technologies.
