A growing organization in the food and beverage industry is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Lexington, SC. This in-office Corporate Staff Accountant role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and enjoys owning a broad range of corporate accounting, reconciliations, banking, payroll accounting, compliance, and general ledger responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly banking activities, including bank reconciliations, sweep confirmations, ACH and wire payment support, funding reviews, and banking block approvals.
- Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll-related accounting entries, payroll liability reconciliations, and general ledger reclassifications.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, credit card deposit reconciliations, chargebacks, returned checks, bank fee analysis, and related trend reporting.
- Maintain prepaid expense reconciliations and amortization schedules, including SaaS assessments and short-term versus long-term determinations.
- Support compliance activities, including sales and use tax, business license filings, occupational tax returns, net profit return filings, and property tax returns.
- Assist with audit support, intercompany activity across multiple related entities, lease and rent accounting, Right of Use considerations, and general ledger analytics.

- Salary range is $75,000 to $90,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage corporate accounting activities, including financial statements, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.
- Support payroll accounting for 600+ employees, including trend review, coding validation, journal entries, and payroll liability reconciliations.
- Manage banking, ACH and wire activity, prepaid expense schedules, compliance filings, and audit support.
- Assist with general ledger analytics, account reclassifications, lease-related accounting, and intercompany activity.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, banking activity, cash flow forecasting, and general ledger accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and SUMIF.
- Experience handling highly confidential payroll, bonus, benefits, tax, or employee-related financial information.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple recurring tasks, reconciliations, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Compliance experience related to sales and use tax, business licenses, property tax filings, or occupational tax filings.
- Strong work ethic and ability to meet month-end deadlines in a high-expectation accounting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with intercompany reconciliations and accounting activity across multiple entities.
- Experience managing lease and rent accounting, including contract review, future obligations, renewals, ACH setup, and prepayment determinations.
- Advanced Excel skills such as macros, dashboards, and INDIRECT formulas.
- Experience in food and beverage production, manufacturing, distribution, or another high-volume operating environment.
