Overview
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting Department, responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and supporting management reporting. This role works closely with internal leadership and external partners to maintain strong financial operations and effective communication across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities
Prepare general ledger entries related to reconciliations and daily banking activities
Review and approve daily sales journals
Record daily contributions
Approve invoices within assigned authorization limits
Prepare and process disbursements, including uploading positive pay files to the bank
Weekly Responsibilities
Prepare and process manual and automated disbursements
Upload manual check positive pay files
Set up new vendors in the accounting system
Monthly Responsibilities
Prepare payroll and benefits-related journal entries
Record month-end general ledger entries, including accruals for utilities, fuel, contracts, and other payables
Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and prepare related journal entries
Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Process selected accounts payable transactions and supporting documentation
Quarterly Responsibilities
Prepare sales tax return schedules for review and approval
Annual Responsibilities
Assist with preparation and review of 1099 filings
Support property tax exemption filings and business property statements
Assist with audit preparation and documentation requests
Contribute to the annual budgeting process
Additional Responsibilities
Provide ad hoc reporting as needed
Assist with front desk coverage and visitor reception when required
Serve as backup support for accounting team members during absences
Support onboarding and training of new staff in collaboration with the Controller
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
Skills and Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Proficiency in learning and adapting to new software systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Technical Proficiency
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Intacct or similar systems)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
