Staff Accountant

Position Overview
A growing and dynamic organization in Oxnard is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs
• Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, cash application, and follow-up collections
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Support financial reporting and account analysis
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and documentation
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to resolve discrepancies
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency

Background Expectations
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience, with strong AP/AR exposure
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge a plus)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar industry
• ERP system experience (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
• Experience with process improvement or system implementations.
