Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Inglewood, CA. The Staff Accountant will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information, maintain accurate records, and prepare financial reports. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting month-end closing activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries for general ledger accounts and document business transactions
Perform month-end close processes, including bank reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts
Review, investigate, and correct errors or inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
Conduct budget reconciliation analysis
Monitor compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal company procedures
Assist with payroll processing through ADP
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to process payroll through ADP
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required
2–4 years of accounting experience, including general ledger work
Required Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience with general ledger accounting
Intermediate knowledge of Accounts Payable and automated payroll systems
Intermediate proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact effectively with staff and management at all levels
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
A mindset focused on continuous process improvement
Willingness to endorse and support the church’s mission and vision statement
