Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: San Diego Downtown (hybrid remote - 2-3x a month max in office)

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our growing accounting team.
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records for assigned hotel properties. This position supports monthly close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries for multiple hotel properties
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close
Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
Review revenue, cash, and expense transactions for accuracy and compliance
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
Assist with budget preparation, forecasts, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP
Coordinate with hotel management, operations, and corporate accounting teams
Support audits and respond to internal and external audit requests
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of accounting experience (hospitality or multi-entity experience preferred)
Working knowledge of GAAP
Experience with accounting systems; hotel accounting software a plus
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
Hotel or hospitality accounting experience
Experience supporting multiple properties or entities
Exposure to monthly close and financial reporting
