The Accountant ensures the financial integrity of our organization by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, supporting monthly and year-end closes, and producing accurate financial reports. We're looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional with a solid grasp of US GAAP and experience in cost and project accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, amortizations, expenses).
Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Process A/P and A/R transactions with precise coding by product line and department.
Reconcile vendor statements and manage retainage payments.
Coordinate payroll expense allocation with HR/payroll providers.
Generate internal financial reports and analyses for leadership.
Maintain compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure budget and forecast accuracy.
Provide documentation for audits, lender requests, and tax filings.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements.
Preferred Background
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years’ experience in general accounting, ideally with cost accounting and project cost tracking.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (ERPs, Excel, etc.) and familiarity with tools like Clio, Journal Technologies, One Legal, InfoTrack, or equivalents.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments.
