Now Hiring: Temporary Staff Accountant (Contract Position)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to support their Finance Department in a temporary capacity. This role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, and accounts payable, as well as supporting audit preparation and funder reporting. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to accuracy and process improvement.
Location: Downtown Los Angeles
Pay: $34.00-$43.00 per hour
Temp with the possibility to hire
Hours 8am-4:30pm
Parking is provided by client
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for general ledger transactions
Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoice processing and check runs
Prepare monthly invoices, reconciliations, and allocations
Support the creation and ongoing analysis of program budgets
Generate timely financial reports and review them with program managers
Assist with audits and respond to funder reporting requirements
Analyze accounts and financial procedures for accuracy and compliance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience (GL, journal entries, financial statements, reconciliations)
Experience with Sage Intaact required
Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
Nonprofit accounting experience is highly preferred
