A well-established and respected real estate and storage management company in Monterey Park is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers a clear path to Controller for the right candidate.

Leadership is seeking an accounting professional who enjoys owning the close process, building structure, and improving financial systems in a lean, collaborative environment.

This role will play an important part in helping the company build a scalable and well-organized financial infrastructure to support long-term growth.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will independently own the full month-end close process across multiple entities within a real estate operating structure. This individual should be comfortable working in a lean environment, taking full responsibility for accounting processes rather than operating as just one piece of a large accounting team.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and structured in their thinking, with strong balance sheet discipline and the ability to clearly communicate accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Own and manage the full month-end and year-end close process

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries

Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances

Prepare and review financial statements

Manage intercompany allocations between management company and property entities

Maintain organized, audit-ready support documentation

Ensure adherence to the chart of accounts and accounting procedures

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal structure

Utilize QuickBooks Online and leverage automation tools to improve efficiency

Qualifications

5–10 years of progressive accounting experience

Proven experience personally owning the full month-end close process

5+ years of QuickBooks Online experience (required)

Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Ability to work full-time on-site in Monterey Park

Strong communication and organizational skills

Comfortable working independently in a small team environment

Preferred Experience

Real estate or property management accounting

Process improvement or systems implementation

Experience using automation or AI tools within accounting workflows
