Position Overview
Client is seeking a professional and customer-focused Sr. Legal Receptionist & Switchboard candidate to support a busy legal office environment at DLA Piper. This role is responsible for front desk reception, switchboard operations, conference room coordination, visitor management, hospitality support, and light administrative duties. The ideal candidate will present professionally, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet and assist clients, visitors, attorneys, and staff with a professional and welcoming demeanor
• Answer and route incoming calls using proper phone etiquette
• Manage conference room scheduling and meeting preparation
• Coordinate hospitality services including beverages, catering, and meeting setup
• Monitor visitor check-ins and maintain office security procedures
• Respond to emails and provide administrative support
• Enter invoices and perform light Microsoft Excel-related tasks
• Maintain lobby appearance and organized workspaces
• Order and organize office supplies as needed
• Support legal staff with clerical and administrative duties
• Track staff whereabouts for proper call and visitor handling
• Serve as a concierge resource for guests and clients
• Assist with issuing and tracking company property or badges when required
Qualifications
• High school diploma required
• 3+ years of receptionist, administrative, or switchboard experience preferred
• Prior law firm or legal office experience strongly preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor required
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
• Customer service-oriented mindset
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
