Well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team. This role is focused exclusively on estimating and preconstruction support for multi-million-dollar high-end residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex estimates from concept through final bid.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for large-scale commercial and high-end residential construction projects
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure complete and accurate pricing
Solicit, analyze, and level bids from subcontractors and suppliers
Develop comprehensive budgets, pricing summaries, and value-engineering options
Collaborate with internal teams during preconstruction to align scope, schedule, and cost
Maintain organized estimating files, historical cost data, and bid documentation
Participate in bid reviews and respond to technical or pricing questions as needed
Must-Have Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience
Direct experience estimating multi-million-dollar commercial and high-end residential projects
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
Proven ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
Required Skills
Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk, Smartsheet)
Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
