Senior Accounting Manager – Bakersfield, CA Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and support strategic financial initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Development Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Manage workload distribution, training, and problem resolution within the accounting team. Financial Reporting & Compliance Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and support internal and external audits. General Ledger & Close Processes Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments. Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial results. Budgeting & Forecasting Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts. Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support financial planning and decision-making. Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight Manage AP and AR functions, ensuring timely invoice processing, collections, and cash flow optimization. Process Improvement & Financial Analysis Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy. Deliver financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement. Tax & Regulatory Compliance Support the preparation of tax filings and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations. Monitor regulatory changes and assess their financial impact. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, modeling). Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Attributes: Experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. Familiarity with audit processes and tax compliance. Proven track record of driving process improvements and team development.
