We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Los Angeles, CA with a growing manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on general ledger work, financial reporting, cost accounting exposure, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced business environment.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with finance leadership and operational teams to support accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and U.S. GAAP compliance. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants meaningful visibility into manufacturing operations, audit support, process improvement, and continued career growth within a collaborative Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support timely month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
- Manage general ledger accounting areas such as fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue, and expense reporting.
- Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis, investigate variances, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support manufacturing-related cost accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations, inventory accounting, and related analysis.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision-making.
- Assist with external audits, due diligence, compliance requests, and special finance projects as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 to $115,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes for a manufacturing-driven business.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and financial analysis.
- Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, audit requests, and internal control improvements.
- Partner with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams on process improvement and compliance initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and lookups.
- Experience with ERP or financial management systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor junior accounting staff and provide review, guidance, and feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting experience with a Big Four or national firm is strongly preferred.
- CPA or CPA-eligible status is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or high-tech environment is highly desirable.
- Cost accounting, inventory control, and inventory analysis experience is a plus.
