Our client, a leading food manufacturer, is seeking a Special Project Manager to oversee the successful deployment of special sales initiatives. This role will drive revenue growth and profitability by leading projects from planning and vendor selection through execution of marketing and sales strategies. The Special Project Manager will supervise staff involved with special sales products, exercise independent judgment, and have authority over hiring, discipline, and termination decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sales projects aligned with company strategic objectives.
Oversee all aspects of special sales products, including forecasting, execution, and reporting.
Manage communication related to special projects across departments and with executive leadership.
Lead RFP development, bid and selection processes, and scope of work documentation.
Monitor sales metrics, project schedules, budgets, and scope—proposing improvements when necessary.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to staff, building a collaborative team environment.
Partner with executives and department managers in weekly briefings to guide business decisions.
Leverage customer feedback to improve product features and increase engagement.
Anticipate risks, resolve issues, and implement contingency plans to ensure project success.
Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, deadlines, and business objectives.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvement.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience selling to major U.S. retail chains or in brokerage.
3–5 years of food product sales experience (manufacturer or business-to-business).
Proven management experience with the ability to lead teams and coordinate across departments.
Strong background in project management methodology.
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Business-level fluency in Japanese is required.
Willingness to travel as needed.
