Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented SolidWorks CAD Drafter for a direct hire opportunity in Chino, CA. This role is ideal for a mechanical drafting professional with 1-2 years of experience who enjoys creating accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, schematics, and technical documentation for metal fabrication and mechanical product design.

You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production teams to support projects from concept through detailed documentation. Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed 2D drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and related CAD tools.
- Create accurate 3D models for mechanical components, product designs, system layouts, and fabrication support.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to translate sketches, specifications, and design concepts into complete CAD documentation.
- Review CAD models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain organized CAD files, version control, and documentation standards to support engineering and production workflows.
- Assist with assembly modeling, design visualization, and technical reports for internal reviews or client presentations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Overtime: Available.
- Benefits: Healthcare insurance, optional dental insurance, vacation/PTO, and 401K.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Create 2D CAD drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions for mechanical and metal fabrication projects.
- Build and update 3D SolidWorks models for product design, system layout, and mechanical components.
- Support drawing reviews, documentation updates, manufacturability checks, and engineering change feedback.
- Maintain accurate CAD files, project documentation, and version control practices.

- 1-2 years of mechanical drafting, CAD drafting, or related design documentation experience.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
- Experience creating technical drawings, schematics, assemblies, and CAD documentation.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and GD&T standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design requirements accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and file management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and production teams.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to support technical documentation and reports.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with metal fabrication, welding, sheet metal, or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or additional 2D drafting software.
- Experience using PDM software for CAD file management and project organization.
- Exposure to assembly modeling, design visualization, or presentation support.
