Job Summary

We are seeking a Social Services Coordinator for a contract/temporary opportunity in Riverside, CA. This role supports veterans by providing comprehensive case management services that promote long-term stability, independence, housing security, employment readiness, and overall well-being.

The Social Services Coordinator will work in a mission-driven government and public sector environment where collaboration, community impact, and client advocacy are central to the work. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and organized human services professional who enjoys working directly with clients, coordinating resources, and helping individuals overcome barriers to self-sufficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to identify needs, barriers, and goals related to housing, employment, education, finances, healthcare, and overall stability.
- Develop, update, and monitor Individual Action Plans while meeting regularly with clients to track progress and adjust service strategies.
- Coordinate services with the VA, healthcare providers, community organizations, public assistance programs, and other supportive service providers.
- Complete intake assessments, verify eligibility, maintain confidential client files, and document all client interactions using DAP case notes.
- Conduct home visits to monitor client safety, well-being, and housing stability.
- Facilitate life skills workshops and educational groups focused on employment readiness, job retention, computer skills, financial literacy, motivation, and overcoming barriers.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/temporary.
- Location: Riverside, CA.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide case management and supportive services to veterans working toward housing, employment, education, financial stability, and wellness goals.
- Create and maintain Individual Action Plans, monthly reviews, discharge summaries, and compliant case documentation.
- Coordinate community resources, benefits assistance, healthcare referrals, housing support, and employment-related services.
- Facilitate client workshops and conduct home visits in the community.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred in case management, social services, behavioral health, housing, homeless services, veteran services, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of community resources, public assistance programs, and supportive service systems.
- Excellent documentation, organization, follow-up, and file management skills.
- Ability to build rapport with diverse populations, including veterans facing complex barriers.
- Comfortable conducting home visits and providing community-based support.
- Ability to advocate for clients and support progress toward self-sufficiency.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, if required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Sociology, Counseling, or a related behavioral science field strongly preferred.
- Experience working with veteran populations, including women veterans, disabled veterans, and post-9/11 veterans.
- Experience assisting clients with resumes, cover letters, job search materials, employment readiness, and job retention.
- Familiarity with VA systems, housing programs, workforce services, and community-based social service providers.
