Job Summary

We are seeking a Shop Procurement Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Los Angeles, CA. This role supports procurement operations for field projects, service work, shop needs, and office operations within an engineering services environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate the purchasing of materials, tools, equipment, supplies, and services for field operations, projects, shop needs, and office support.
- Obtain vendor quotes, compare pricing, and support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Create, process, update, and track purchase orders and change orders in procurement systems.
- Monitor order status, confirm delivery timelines, and follow up with vendors to resolve delays, discrepancies, returns, and warranty items.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, pricing information, supplier contacts, procurement data, invoices, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, field teams, shipping, receiving, and suppliers to support timely deliveries and smooth operations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate sourcing, ordering, and delivery of materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Manage purchase orders, change orders, vendor follow-up, and procurement documentation.
- Research vendors, compare pricing, source hard-to-find parts, and support delivery tracking.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams by phone, email, and chat in a fast-paced environment.

- 1 to 3 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related experience.
- Working knowledge of procurement processes, vendor coordination, and purchase order systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build productive vendor and internal relationships.
- Ability to stay flexible, pivot quickly, remain professional under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to support project managers, field teams, shipping, receiving, and operations personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate degree or coursework in business, supply chain, logistics, operations, or a related field.
- Experience in construction, mechanical services, engineering services, field service, manufacturing, or production operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or procurement software.
- Experience supporting warranty claims, returns, core returns, credits, and vendor issue resolution.
