Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman for a direct hire opportunity in Pewaukee, WI, supporting a growing Fire Protection Division within the industrial construction and mechanical contracting field. This role is ideal for a hands-on journeyman leader who takes pride in quality fabrication, safe shop operations, and developing skilled tradespeople.
The Shop Foreman will help lead daily production in a fast-paced fabrication environment, coordinating work assignments, supporting project schedules, and maintaining high standards for craftsmanship and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop production, workflow, and scheduling to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Coordinate work assignments based on project priorities and communicate schedule updates with project managers.
- Maintain inventory of materials, parts, and shop consumables to support uninterrupted production.
- Ensure shop equipment is maintained, operating properly, and used safely.
- Enforce safety standards, quality expectations, and accountability across the shop team.
- Identify process improvements that increase shop efficiency, productivity, and workmanship quality.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $45,000 to $110,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Full-time position.
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Classification may be exempt or bargaining unit, depending on role classification.
- Work is performed in a fabrication shop, on construction sites, and in outdoor industrial environments.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead daily production activities within a fire protection fabrication shop.
- Coordinate shop schedules, project priorities, and work assignments with project managers.
- Support safe equipment operation, material availability, and quality workmanship.
- Drive continuous improvement in production processes and shop efficiency.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Journeyman classification and member in good standing with the applicable local bargaining unit required.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in fire protection or a related mechanical fabrication environment required.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication methods, installation practices, and industry safety standards.
- Ability to lead skilled tradespeople in a fast-paced shop or industrial production setting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping production on schedule.
- Basic computer proficiency required.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility on a regular basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership, lead person, or foreman experience in a fabrication, mechanical, fire protection, or industrial construction environment.
- Experience supporting commercial or industrial fire protection projects.
- Background improving shop processes, workflow, safety practices, or production efficiency.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to coach journeymen, apprentices, and shop personnel.
