Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a contract opportunity in Santa Clara, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with warehouse, mailroom, logistics, or shipping and receiving experience who enjoys staying organized, supporting daily operations, and providing excellent service to internal and external customers.

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will play an important role in keeping packages, shipments, deliveries, and mail moving accurately and efficiently. This position offers a team-oriented warehouse environment where communication, reliability, and attention to detail are valued. Candidates who enjoy active work, clear processes, and a supportive operations setting will be well suited for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform daily shipping and receiving duties, including preparing shipments using banding, shrink wrapping, boxing, and packaging materials.
- Prepare and apply labels and badges for packages using UPS, FedEx, and USPS systems.
- Schedule and coordinate daily deliveries and pick-ups with UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
- Manage inbound and outbound mail, including USPS mail preparation and related documentation.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers regarding shipments, packages, mail, delivery status, and related questions.
- Track, record, and maintain daily volume metrics for inbound and outbound shipments, packages, and mail.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare, package, label, and process outbound shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Receive, sort, track, and distribute inbound shipments, packages, and mail.
- Coordinate carrier pick-ups and deliveries with UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
- Maintain daily shipment, package, and mail volume records.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, mailroom, logistics, or a similar operations role.
- Proficiency using a PC or laptop and Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using Slack or similar communication tools.
- Ability to use UPS, FedEx, and USPS systems for shipping, labeling, scheduling, and package processing.
- Ability to use pallet jacks and similar warehouse equipment for shipment handling.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional, polite, and courteous communication style.
- Ability to bend, twist, stand for up to an hour at a time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work reliably in a warehouse environment and follow shipping, receiving, and mailroom procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience supporting both warehouse shipping operations and mailroom functions.
- Experience tracking daily operational metrics or shipment volume reports.
- Familiarity with carrier portals, label printing, package documentation, and delivery coordination processes.
