Shipping & Receiving / Logistics Coordinator
Goleta, CA | $20-$25/ hour/ DOE | Full -Time | Onsite Only
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving / Logistics Coordinator to manage daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and documentation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant movement of goods while collaborating closely with sales, customers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping Coordination
• Coordinate outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and required documentation
• Work closely with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries
• Coordinate with Sales and customers on customer-specific and international shipping requirements
Receiving Procedures
• Follow established receiving processes and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality
• Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and maintain clear documentation and communication
Inventory Control
• Ensure accurate receiving, storage, and distribution of materials
• Follow inventory control procedures to prevent discrepancies, losses, or stockouts
• Conduct cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives
Quality Assurance
• Ensure all shipments meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Implement quality control practices to minimize errors and improve efficiency
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate records for all incoming and outgoing shipments, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs documents
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations
Health & Safety
• Uphold workplace safety standards and promote a culture of safety awareness
• Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials, where applicable
Collaboration
• Partner with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Customer Service to ensure smooth operations and alignment across departments
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory management best practices
• Proficiency with MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (NetSuite experience a plus)
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multi task, problem-solve, and make decisions under pressure
• Knowledge of safety regulations, hazardous materials handling, and international shipping requirements
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and drive process improvements
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5+ years of shipping and receiving experience, including international shipping
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
