Responsible for performing the basic functions to properly pick, pack, ship, and receive all products and materials for assigned location. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Must be able to plan and execute the functions independently with minimal supervision. May perform only certain shipping and/or receiving activities and be designated accordingly based on site/location. Cross training and substitution of other tasks as required.
General
• Perform all shipping and receiving duties below.
• Greet drivers and/or customers upon entering the Shipping office.
o Assist drivers/customers with issues within scope of knowledge and authority
o Confirm pickup number with Drivers and provide instruction for pickup
o Confirm delivery for receivables
• Process orders in ERP system.
• Responsible for inventory; incoming, outgoing, and physical counts.
• Type correspondence to carriers, customers, Shipping team, etc. in the form of e-mail, memos, letters, etc.
• Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines; continually check materials and orders to ensure accuracy
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment; maintain fork truck by completing proper inspection and reporting any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department
Shipping
• Prepare orders for shipment; retrieve orders from ERP, pick and pack material (includes lifting weights between 45-55 lbs. regularly), wrap and strap skids, stage material, and load trucks.
• Operate fork truck or use hand truck to lift/transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements.
• Load trucks, flatbeds, and/or containers; process all transfer paperwork
Receiving
• Receive Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA); work with Quality/Supply Chain to determine disposition. Returns require regular lifting of 45-55 lbs.
• Unload trucks, flatbeds, and/or containers
• Use handheld scanner for receiving and movement of inventory.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required
• English fluency (read, write, speak)
• 3 years of fork truck experience required
• Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
• Read and understand units of measure
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
• Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
• Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Computer proficiency (inventory, data entry, work orders, etc.) - experience with UPS and FedEx software preferred
