We are seeking a Shift Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Beverly Hills, CA with a fast-paced café and hospitality environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on restaurant or food service leader who enjoys coaching team members, creating memorable guest experiences, and keeping daily operations running smoothly.
As a Shift Manager, you will help lead a positive, welcoming, and service-focused team culture. You will work closely with store leadership to support training, accountability, operational excellence, and consistent food and beverage quality. Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily café operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow, strong service, and consistent product quality.
- Coach, train, motivate, and support team members while setting clear expectations and recognizing strong performance.
- Create a warm and welcoming guest experience by resolving concerns professionally and upholding service standards.
- Manage shift responsibilities including staffing flow, cleanliness, food production, safety compliance, inventory support, and operational procedures.
- Handle cash accountability, opening and closing duties, register procedures, and assigned administrative tasks.
- Partner with store leadership to communicate staffing needs, performance concerns, operational updates, and improvement opportunities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $52,000 to $55,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.
- Schedule: Must be comfortable working AM and PM shifts, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs.
- Lead café shifts and direct team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Maintain exceptional guest service, food quality, cleanliness, and brand standards.
- Coach, train, and motivate employees while addressing performance concerns professionally.
- Support cash handling, opening and closing procedures, inventory, and shift accountability.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in hospitality, food service, retail, or another high-volume customer-service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate team members.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant, café, or food service setting.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Professional, accountable, mature, and able to take ownership of shift responsibilities.
- Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to create positive guest experiences.
- Ability to work as part of a team while confidently leading others.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, and move throughout the café as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Ability to safely handle food, beverages, equipment, and supplies.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot kitchen areas, refrigerated storage areas, and outdoor conditions as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in a café, quick-service restaurant, bakery, coffee shop, or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Experience with cash handling, register accountability, opening and closing procedures, and shift leadership.
- Familiarity with food safety, cleanliness standards, inventory support, and customer-service best practices.
