Job Description
We are hiring experienced and dependable Sheet Metal Mechanics for commercial HVAC construction projects in Stratford, CT. This role involves installing, fabricating, and repairing HVAC duct systems and equipment in commercial construction environments.
Responsibilities
• Install, repair, and replace HVAC duct systems
• Perform ductwork layout, measurement, and installation
• Install rooftop units (RTUs), air handlers, fans, and ventilation systems
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
• Fabricate and modify sheet metal components on-site
• Install hangers, supports, grilles, and diffusers
• Seal and test HVAC systems for proper operation and leakage
• Safely operate trade tools, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
• Maintain clean and safe job sites
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures
Requirements
• CT Sheet Metal License (SM-1 or SM-2) preferred
• Experience with commercial HVAC duct installation
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts
• Experience with RTUs, ductwork, and ventilation systems
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• Scissor lift and boom lift experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must have own basic trade tools
• Stable work history and reliable attendance
