Job Overview:
The Tax Manager is responsible for tax compliance, tax consulting, and efficiently preparing and reviewing clients’ tax returns. The Tax Manager will develop and mentor staff, form long-term relationships with clients and generate new business.
Skills and Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of federal and state tax forms
• Review individual, business, and other types of tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings for multiple types of clients
• Provide feedback and guidance to improve the quality of tax filings and ensure adherence to firm standards.
• Prepare and review tax projections and estimates
• Review property tax returns
• Financial statement preparation and review
• Review complex tax matters and provide solutions for identified issues
• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
• Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business
• Develop and mentor tax associates
• Keep up to date with tax and accounting technical developments.
• Assume various responsibilities to assist with the overall management of the Firm.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another relevant field required. Master’s degree in accounting or taxation preferred
• 5+ years of prior experience preparing and reviewing tax returns. Supervisory experience preferred
• CPA certification required
• Technical expert knowledge of tax law

Additional Skills:
• Proficiency in UltraTax
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations
• Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
• Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Analytical skills with detail orientation
• Ability to work independently and with a team
