Senior Tax Accountant – CPA
Location: Central San Diego, CA
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 DOE

A prestigious and rapidly growing CPA firm in Central San Diego is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant (CPA required) to join their team. The Senior Tax Accountant will play a key role in managing and executing the full tax return process, including preparing returns, conducting client meetings, drafting engagement letters, and supporting the ongoing development of junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare complex individual, corporate, partnership, and nonprofit tax returns
Draft and review engagement letters; attend and lead client meetings
Support tax planning strategies and provide guidance to clients
Mentor and assist in the development of junior tax team members
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Collaborate with partners and senior management on high-level tax matters
Qualifications
Active CPA license required (EA not accepted)
Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
Advanced skills in QuickBooks highly desired
Experience with nonprofit tax accounting strongly preferred
Experience with Lacerte strongly desired
Experience with 1031 exchanges and 754 adjustments is a plus
Strong analytical, communication, and client-facing skills
