Senior Staff Accountant
Location: Miami, FL (On-site only)
Salary Range: $90,000–$110,000
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Work Arrangement: In-office only (no remote)

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support daily financial operations, month-end close, tax compliance, and process improvements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys analytical work, systems, and operational efficiency. Law firm experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and analyses
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and account analysis
Process accounts payable entries and coordinate vendor payments
Maintain and update general ledger entries and the chart of accounts
Manage fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
Prepare state and local tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
Maintain compliance calendars and monitor filing deadlines
Support external tax advisors during annual tax preparation
Reconcile trust/IOLTA accounts
Assist with budgeting, audit responses, and financial reporting
Improve workflows through automation, technology, and SOP development
Lead unclaimed property reporting and escheatment processes


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred)
5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, depreciation, and tax reporting
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, data analysis)
Experience with accounting systems; Aderant is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
High attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills
Tech-savvy with the ability to streamline processes


Physical Requirements

Frequent computer and keyboard use
Ability to sit for extended periods, talk, hear, and focus on detailed work
