Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Miami, FL with a growing finance team in the legal services industry. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys hands-on general ledger work, financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and process improvement.

The Senior Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations, month-end and year-end close, audit and tax preparation, and financial analysis. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
- Perform bank, credit card, general ledger, fixed asset, and trust/IOLTA account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account review, and variance analysis.
- Process accounts payable activities, review vendor payments, and assist with tax filing support.
- Maintain the General Ledger Chart of Accounts and support audit, tax, budgeting, and ad hoc reporting needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation, technology, and stronger internal workflows.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time.
- Work Arrangement: 100% onsite.
- Location: Miami, FL 33131.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
- Assist with month-end close, year-end close, journal entries, and financial analysis.
- Coordinate compliance-related accounting tasks, including state and local tax filings and trust/IOLTA reconciliations.
- Contribute to accounting process improvements, reporting enhancements, and special finance projects.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, tax reporting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
- Experience working with accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with finance team members and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Law firm or legal services industry experience preferred.
- Experience with legal industry accounting software is a plus.
- Experience supporting audits, budgeting, fixed asset accounting, and process automation initiatives is preferred.
