About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced accounting team. The ideal candidate is experienced in accrual-based accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations, and thrives in a dynamic environment with a busy month-end close. This position requires strong analytical abilities, excellent Excel skills (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs), and a solid understanding of debits, credits, and the general ledger.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial data
• Handle accruals, prepaid expenses, and other month-end close activities
• Analyze financial statements and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper cost allocation and financial tracking
• Assist in internal and external audit preparations and provide necessary documentation
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to manipulate and analyze large datasets
• Build and maintain pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas for reporting and reconciliations
• Contribute to process improvements and support automation initiatives to enhance efficiency
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and journal entry preparation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and advanced formulas
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
• Experience with ERP systems Microsoft Dynamics preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in high-volume, multi-entity environments
• Familiarity with financial reporting tools or business intelligence platform
