We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and results-driven individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Month-end Close:
Prepare journal entries and assist with the month-end close process.
Reconcile bank accounts and other key accounts.
Prepare and analyze financial reports.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow.
Prepare supporting schedules and analyses for financial statements.
Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all accounting transactions.
Research and resolve accounting issues.
Account Reconciliation:
Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory.
Investigate and resolve reconciling items.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Assist with special projects as needed.
Support other members of the finance team as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
3+ years of experience in accounting, with experience in a public accounting firm preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and vlookups.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
