Senior Operational Risk Officer– Auto Lending

We are seeking a Senior Operational Risk Officer to provide oversight, governance, and advisory support across our Auto Lending business. This position plays a strategic role in evaluating risk frameworks, monitoring emerging risks, and advising leadership on risk mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical expertise, deep knowledge of operational risk, and experience presenting insights and recommendations to executive leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead operational risk oversight activities within Auto Lending and related business processes.
Monitor emerging risks, identify trends, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation and control enhancement.
Develop and deliver presentations to executive leadership, providing insight into key risk indicators, operational performance, and control gaps.
Execute data-driven analysis to support decision-making and evaluate complex risk issues.
Serve as a subject matter expert to business partners, providing guidance on risk frameworks, policies, and control standards.
Support risk governance activities, including risk assessments, policy adherence, issue management, and oversight reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed environment to drive accountability and risk transparency.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of Operational Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, military service, education, or training.
Advanced understanding of Operational Risk and Risk Governance, preferably in a risk oversight function (2nd line).
Proven ability to analyze complex data and communicate recommendations clearly.
Experience presenting to executive or senior leadership.
Knowledge of Auto Lending or Auto Finance processes, including associated risks.
Strong relationship-management skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); data visualization experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with risk frameworks (e.g., RCSA, KRIs, loss data management).
Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting consumer lending and Auto Finance.
Experience working in large, matrixed financial institutions.
Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
