Senior Medical Administrative Assistant (Practice Support)

Location: Murrieta, CA (Primary), with occasional travel to Temecula and Menifee
Compensation: $25–$30 per hour depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Administrative Assistant to serve as the primary support to the Practice Manager and clinical providers within a high-volume, well-established medical practice. This role supports daily operations, credentialing, scheduling, bookkeeping, benefits administration, and overall practice efficiency. The right candidate thrives in a fast-paced medical environment and has strong Excel and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative and Operational Support:
Serve as primary administrative support to the Practice Manager and providers
Maintain accurate provider schedules in the EHR and other internal systems
Assist with provider and hospital credentialing tasks
Support daily operations across multiple office locations and ensure effective workflow
Create and maintain spreadsheets, tracking logs, and databases (including pivot tables)
Maintain administrative filing systems, including confidential employee records
Oversee office and medical supply inventory
Create service and work orders for equipment or facility needs
Provide general office support to maintain smooth operations
Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable (Approximately 20 percent of position):
Support accounts payable by filing invoices and verifying payments
Follow up on discrepancies and ensure accurate posting
Assist with tracking deposits and ensuring they are received and balanced
Work within established bookkeeping processes alongside QuickBooks entries performed by the Practice Manager
Benefits, HR, and Compliance Support:
Assist with employee benefits administration and enrollment
Maintain and update 401(k) tracking spreadsheets after each payroll
Assist with malpractice and other policy administration as directed
Support HR tasks including onboarding, documentation, and compliance tracking
Maintain credentialing, CME records, and communicate upcoming deadlines to providers
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years administrative experience
Minimum 3 years experience in a medical office environment
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables
Experience in credentialing, benefits administration, or HR support
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Ability to travel occasionally to the Temecula and Menifee offices
Education:
High School Diploma required
Work Schedule:
Office hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Full-time, 8-hour shift scheduled within the above window

Medical insurance 85 percent employer-paid after 60 days
