Senior Manager of Judgmental Lending – Credit Card Services
We're looking for a seasoned and strategic leader to join our team as the Senior Manager of Judgmental Lending – Credit Card Services. This pivotal role involves leading a high-performing team of credit professionals and managers, overseeing the end-to-end judgmental lending and underwriting operations for unsecured credit card products. You'll be instrumental in driving operational excellence and innovation in a dynamic environment, while also identifying new opportunities to expand business capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of lending professionals and managers, both onsite and offshore, to consistently exceed performance goals.
Oversee daily credit lending and underwriting operations, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Design and implement performance metrics, scorecards, and quality improvement programs to boost operational efficiency and service delivery.
Analyze and optimize existing processes for continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, including detailed variance analysis and resource allocation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on migrations, project management, and new initiative rollouts.
Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the lending function to support business expansion.
Ensure timely resolution of issues and strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), focusing on a positive customer experience and effective dispute resolution.
Maintain a strong understanding of the credit cycle, risk management practices, and unsecured lending regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance.
Communicate complex information effectively to various audiences, including senior leadership, regulators, and external partners.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in banking, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing credit lending and underwriting operations.
Deep knowledge of the credit cycle, consumer lending regulations, and risk assessment methodologies.
Demonstrated success in managing large teams and complex operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of implementing process improvements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data visualization and reporting tools is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of initiative, adaptability, and ability to manage ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in overseeing large-scale client programs, migrations, and project management.
Proven ability to align team performance with strategic business goals.
