Senior Maintenance Mechanic
Pay Range: $24–$35 per hour (depending on experience)
Workplace Type: Onsite – 14623 (some local travel required)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (overtime available)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Mechanic to perform complex repairs and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role requires expertise across multiple trades, including masonry, carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating and ventilation, electrical maintenance, and groundskeeping. The Senior Maintenance Mechanic will supervise and train subordinate staff, ensuring quality work and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform advanced installation, maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of electrical fixtures, equipment, and systems
• Handle complex plumbing repairs and installations
• Conduct steam fitting, forging, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and machine shop activities
• Carry out masonry, stone-cutting, and related tasks
• Perform carpentry, locksmithing, and cabinet-making work
• Prepare, paint, and refinish wood, metal, and other surfaces
• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment and systems
• Maintain and repair groundskeeping equipment
• Assign tasks to subordinate personnel and determine work priorities
• Lead, train, and supervise Maintenance Mechanics, Helpers, and laborers
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of practices, tools, terminology, and safety precautions in building and equipment maintenance
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and power equipment
• Ability to interpret and execute oral and written instructions, plans, and specifications
• Resourcefulness in diagnosing and resolving mechanical problems
• Physical ability to lift, carry, climb stairs, push/pull moderate weight, kneel, sit, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors as needed
Qualifications
• Option A: 3 years of full-time paid (or part-time equivalent) experience as a skilled tradesman in mechanical, construction, or groundskeeping/landscaping trades
• Option B: Graduation from a technical high school program in a construction or mechanical trade (carpentry, electricity, auto mechanics, sheet metal work) plus 2 years of relevant experience

• Comfortable working in apartments of elderly residents with professionalism and respect
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
