We are seeking a polished and experienced Senior Legal Receptionist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in a busy legal office environment in Washington, DC. This role is ideal for a front desk professional who enjoys being the first point of contact, managing a high-volume switchboard, supporting meeting coordination, and delivering exceptional service to clients, visitors, attorneys, and staff.
The Senior Legal Receptionist will play an important role in creating a professional, welcoming, and well-organized office experience. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist clients, visitors, employees, and legal professionals in a warm, professional, and service-focused manner.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls while maintaining proper telephone etiquette and monitoring staff availability.
- Coordinate conference rooms, meeting schedules, catering requests, beverage service, and video conferencing setup.
- Maintain visitor logs, follow office security procedures, and keep the reception and lobby areas clean, organized, and professional.
- Provide administrative support, including reports, calendars, appointments, files, correspondence, and business documents.
- Order and maintain office, reception, hospitality, and meeting supplies as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour.
- Job Type: 4+ month temp-to-hire opportunity.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Location: Washington, DC 20005.
- Manage front desk reception, visitor support, and client-facing communication in a professional legal office setting.
- Operate a switchboard, screen and route calls, and support office communication flow.
- Coordinate conference rooms, meetings, hospitality requests, catering, and video conferencing needs.
- Provide administrative support, including filing, scheduling, reporting, correspondence, and document preparation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of receptionist, administrative support, or customer service experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay composed in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Professional appearance, polished demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, visitors, attorneys, and support staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
- Prior switchboard experience in a professional office environment.
- Previous legal office or law firm experience.
- Experience supporting attorneys, paralegals, or legal professionals.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, office procedures, and document management.
