Key Responsibilities
Formulate, reverse engineer, and reformulate a wide range of cosmetic and personal care products, including skin, hair, bath & body, intimate, and pet care.
Ensure compliance with FDA, cGMP, and cosmetic regulations.
Conduct stability testing and validate that all formulations meet regulatory and quality standards.
Support pilot batching and scale-up to full manufacturing.
Partner with cross-functional teams to take products from concept through commercialization.
Stay current on industry trends, raw material innovations, and advances in cosmetic science through supplier partnerships, seminars, and continuing education.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior chemists and technicians.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field (advanced degree preferred).
5+ years of experience in cosmetic formulation.
Strong knowledge of raw materials, ingredient interactions, and formulation science.
Proven history of developing and launching successful products.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
