Job Summary
A growing organization in the automotive and parts manufacturing industry is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys financial planning and analysis, executive reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cross-functional business support.
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in improving the accuracy and visibility of financial reporting across multiple entities while supporting leadership with actionable insights, dashboards, financial models, and executive presentations. This is a strong opportunity to join a collaborative team with supportive leadership, exposure to senior management, and the ability to contribute to meaningful decisions that impact business performance.
This position offers a hybrid schedule, a stable professional environment, and the opportunity to work across FP&A, accounting, treasury, operations, and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical ability, advanced Excel skills, accounting knowledge, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasts, monthly re-forecasts, long-term financial planning, and detailed financial projections.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models for scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, forecasting, and business decision support.
- Conduct variance analysis comparing actual performance to budget and forecast, then prepare insights, commentary, and recommendations for senior management.
- Prepare executive-level financial reports, dashboards, KPI reporting, PowerPoint presentations, and financial summaries for leadership.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, maintain journal entry files, reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, and support accounting accuracy.
- Support treasury, daily cash operations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and FP&A process improvement initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $90,000 to $105,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.
- Schedule: Full-time hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.
- Location: Costa Mesa, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
- Prepare executive-level financial reports, dashboards, variance analysis, and management presentations.
- Perform month-end accounting activities, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Partner with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, business administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of current professional experience in financial analysis or accounting.
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to research, interpret, and resolve complex issues.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting systems, practices, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights clearly to management.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and follow company policies and safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or multi-entity financial reporting environments.
- Experience building dashboards, executive summaries, and PowerPoint presentations for senior leadership.
- Background supporting process improvement, reporting automation, or FP&A efficiency initiatives.
