We are a recruiting and staffing agency partnering with a well-established and respected family law firm in Raleigh to identify a highly skilled Senior Paralegal for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This is an excellent position for a detail-oriented legal professional with deep experience in family law who is looking for a long-term role within a collaborative and client-focused practice.
Position Overview:
The Senior Paralegal will serve as a key resource in supporting attorneys and clients throughout all stages of family law cases, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and post-judgment matters. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years of paralegal experience in family law, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex case files, handle sensitive client matters, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, draft, and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, financial affidavits, and settlement agreements.
Manage full case lifecycle from client intake through resolution, including trial preparation.
Conduct thorough legal research and compile relevant case law and statutes.
Maintain organized case files, calendars, and deadlines in accordance with court rules and internal processes.
Liaise directly with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third-party professionals, providing updates and gathering necessary documentation.
Support attorneys with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, drafting trial notebooks, and coordinating witnesses.
Ensure accurate and timely e-filing of documents in North Carolina state courts.
Assist in drafting and reviewing billing entries and managing timekeeping records.
Handle confidential client matters with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of family law paralegal experience required.
Strong working knowledge of North Carolina family law and court procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Exceptional writing, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage competing deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Professional demeanor with a client-first attitude.
Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required.
