AppleOne is partnering with a highly reputable national commercial general contractor with a strong presence in South Florida to identify an experienced Senior Estimator / Preconstruction Professional to join their growing team.

This organization is an employee-owned (ESOP) construction firm recognized nationally for delivering high-quality commercial projects across multiple sectors. Position Overview

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in the preconstruction process, developing accurate and competitive estimates for ground-up commercial construction projects typically valued at $20M+.

This position is ideal for a seasoned Senior Estimator or an experienced Project Manager with strong estimating exposure who is interested in transitioning into a dedicated preconstruction role.

The selected professional will work closely with leadership, project teams, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are priced competitively and positioned for successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare conceptual, schematic, design-development, and GMP estimates for ground-up commercial construction projects

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing evaluations across all trades

Lead and support the preconstruction process from pursuit through final proposal submission

Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids

Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Architects, Engineers, and ownership teams during preconstruction

Participate in value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost optimization initiatives

Support proposal development, bid presentations, and client interviews when required

Assist with project handoff from Preconstruction to Operations to ensure continuity

Monitor market conditions, labor availability, and material pricing trends

Manage multiple estimates simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 7–10+ years of experience in commercial construction

Proven experience in estimating or preconstruction

Experience with ground-up commercial projects valued at $20M+

Background as a Senior Estimator or Project Manager with estimating responsibilities

Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing

Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents

Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Technical Skills

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Procore

Bluebeam

Microsoft Project preferred

Preferred Project Experience

Experience across diverse commercial project types such as:

Tilt-wall industrial / distribution facilities

Light industrial and warehouse developments

High-rise or mid-rise multifamily

Hospitality / wood-frame construction

Healthcare or medical office buildings

Retail developments

Multi-story self-storage

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
