Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Estimator for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established commercial construction organization in the Miami- Fort Lauderdale, FL area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced preconstruction and estimating professional to take a leadership role on complex commercial construction projects throughout South Florida.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate budgets, competitive estimates, GMPs, and bid packages while partnering closely with leadership, operations, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients. This role is ideal for a detail-driven construction estimating professional who enjoys leading bid strategy, mentoring team members, and contributing to successful project delivery from early concept through turnover.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid packages, and GMPs for commercial construction projects.
- Solicit, review, compare, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure complete and competitive bid coverage.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents to identify cost impacts, gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
- Lead constructability reviews, preconstruction coordination, and bid administration to support accurate and timely submissions.
- Support project turnover to operations and project management teams, including scope reviews, subcontractor selection, and buyout assistance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, architects, and internal project teams while mentoring junior estimating staff.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $120,000 to $160,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for commercial construction projects.
- Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and GMPs.
- Manage subcontractor bid solicitation, bid evaluations, scope reviews, and buyout support.
- Coordinate bid administration, constructability reviews, value engineering, and project turnover.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant construction estimating experience required, with strong commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of preconstruction processes, construction means and methods, pricing, drawings, specifications, and bid documentation.
- Experience working with estimating software and construction technology platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and deadlines.
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, project management teams, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working for a commercial general contractor.
- Experience managing large, complex commercial construction estimates.
- Strong knowledge of South Florida subcontractor markets, vendor relationships, and regional construction costs.
- BIM experience preferred.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.
