Senior Corporate Service Manager Location: Buffalo, NY
Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Corporate Service Manager to join our executive team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all non-revenue generating operations across our US and Canadian industrial construction business. The successful candidate will ensure seamless, compliant, and efficient execution of support functions, including accounting, taxation, human resources, financial management, licensing, and insurance (with emphasis on captive programs).
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
• Direct all accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with US and Canadian GAAP and internal controls
• Support audits and tax preparation with documentation and analysis
Taxation
• Manage tax compliance across federal, state, provincial, and local jurisdictions
• Prepare and review corporate, sales, and use tax returns
• Liaise with external tax advisors and manage audits
• Monitor changes in tax laws and assess financial impact
Human Resources
• Oversee HR operations: recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and labor law compliance
• Maintain accurate HR records and employee files
• Support audits, policy updates, and training initiatives
• Promote a positive work environment and effective field-corporate communication
Licensing & Compliance
• Ensure all business and professional licenses are current and compliant
• Oversee union reporting and regulatory relationships
• Lead internal reviews to uphold company policies and industry standards
Insurance (Captive Programs)
• Manage corporate insurance programs, including captive structures
• Evaluate risk exposures and ensure adequate coverage
• Coordinate with brokers, underwriters, and legal teams
• Monitor claims, renewals, and regulatory filings
Leadership & Administration
• Supervise and develop support staff for high performance and growth
• Advise senior management on administrative, financial, and HR matters
• Drive process improvements, digital transformation, and operational excellence
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting, tax, and HR; industrial construction experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of US and Canadian labor, tax, insurance, and compliance regulations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience managing cross-border teams and operations is highly desirable
• Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a strong asset
Compensation & Benefits
• Base Salary: $140,000 – $170,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience
• Annual Performance Bonus: $35,000 – $45,000 USD
